Alexander Vitlin
Currently 2. Kapellmeister at the Pfalztheater Kaiserslautern and Guest Repetitor at the Wiener Staatsoper, the italian pianist and conductor Massimiliano Iezzi has drawn widespread acclaim in venues such as the Teatro La Fenice Venezia, Tonhalle Zurich, Konzerthaus Berlin, Philharmonie Luxemburg, Philharmonie Berlin, Deutsche Oper Berlin, Staatsoper Berlin.
Since 2018, Massimiliano Iezzi has conducted numerous German and international orchestras, including the Konzerthausorchester Berlin, the Staatsorchester Hamburg, the Brandenburgisches Staatsorchester Frankfurt, the Staatsorchester Cottbus, the Karlovy Vary Symphony Orchestra, the Cherubini Orchestra.
Collaborating with artists such as Daniel Barenboim, Helmut Lachenmann, Alexander Gadjiev, Ben Goldscheider and Filippo Gorini, he was from 2017 until 2019 Assistant Conductor to Jörg-Peter Weigle.
He is prizewinner of the International Respighi Competition 2021 together with the tenor Lawrence Halksworth as a Lied-Duo, furthermore he is collaborative pianist for international competitions such as the XVI Tchaikovsky International Competition and the Schumann International Competition and for Theaters such as Staatsoper Berlin, Deutsche Oper Berlin, Staatstheater Cottbus and Deutsche Oper am Rhein.
July 2023, he was Assistant and Repetitor at the Bayreuther Festspiele and 2022-2023 held the position of Repetitor and Conductor at the Staatstheater Cottbus.
August 2023, he was selected as Assistant Conductor of M°Kent Nagano at the Staatsoper Hamburg.
November 2023, Massimiliano was amongst the four conductors to be selected to participate in the prestigious Riccardo Muti Italian Opera Academy 2023, conducting Bellini’s “Norma”.
Massimiliano Iezzi started playing piano and flute at the age of 13, after graduating with honours in piano, korrepetition and conducting from the Rinaldo Franci Conservatory in Siena, the Imola International Piano Academy and the Hochschule für Musik "Hanns Eisler" in Berlin.
Massimiliano’s artistic development is supported by the mentorship of Riccardo Muti, Alexander Vitlin, Markus Stenz, Christian Ehwald and Fabio Bidini.
